January Reflections

The ending of one year and the beginning of another is a time of contemplation for many folks as they consider New Year’s resolutions that they may or may not keep.  I typically spend this time reflecting on my photographic skills, what I accomplished in the past year, and how I want to grow and improve in the coming year.

I had the opportunity to participate in several workshops and on-line photo classes in 2025 that forced me to think outside the box and get out of my comfort zone. I’ve experimented with and enhanced my knowledge of Intentional Camera Movement (ICM), multiple exposures (ME), long exposure photography using various filters, and more. I’m always ready to learn new post-processing techniques and expand my Photoshop and Lightroom skills.

Most importantly, I’ve given myself permission to play and have fun in order to create unique images that speak to me, and hopefully to my viewers! While floral and garden photography still ranks at the top of my list, I’ve been drawn to more abstract images and will focus my energies in that direction for 2026.

Check out the tab that lists my 25 favorite images from 2025 and then browse the other categories on the site. I made some recent changes and plan to make more revisions and keep it up to date. Thank you all for your continued support and have a Happy and Healthy New Year!
